The Scottish Government supports Freedom of Information as an essential part of open democratic government and responsive public services.
We are committed to operating within the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. At the same time we will adjust the regime where it is necessary and sensible to do so. The Freedom of Information Amendment Bill will propose amendments to the Act intended to add strength and clarity to the legislation.
