Parole Board re-appointments

Scottish Ministers have re-appointed the following members of the Parole Board for Scotland, for a second term of office with effect from 1 January 2001: Dr Judy Greenwood, Dr John Baird, Mr Hamish Hyslop, The Rt Hon Lord Donald Ross and Sheriff Brian Lockhart.
Two other members of the Parole Board, Professor Lorraine Waterhouse and Mr John Muirhead, whose periods of appointment expire on 31 December 2000, and who have completed two terms of appointment as members of the Board, have stepped down.
Membership of the Parole Board for Scotland involves attending regular casework meetings and visiting penal establishments, primarily to interview prisoners eligible for consideration of early release on parole or life licence.
