SSCI Sustainable Design Ideas Competition: Whitecross, Linlithgow
As part of the SSCI, a design competition was run, in collaboration with the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), based around the SSCI exemplar site at Whitecross, near Linlithgow. The focus of the competition was on realisable, sustainable designs and the final submissions were made by design/developer partnerships. Five partnerships were shortlisted from the forty-one prequalification submissions. The partnerships were led by the following architecture practices (listed alphabetically):

HTA Architects Ltd
Malcolm Fraser Architects Ltd
RMJM Scotland Ltd
The final result of the competition was announced on October 19, 2010. The winning architecture practice was Malcolm Fraser Architecture Ltd. An exhibition of the shortlisted submissions is currently touring Scotland as detailed below:
