Overview
The Housing Supply Task Force was established in 2007 to identify and tackle impediments to increasing the supply of housing across all tenures so that people across Scotland can access suitable housing that meets their needs and demands. It issued a report, Housing Supply in Scotland, on 6 February 2009.
Reconvening of Task Force
Following a review, the task force reconvened in March 2009 under the chairmanship of the Minister for Housing and Communities. Members were drawn from the following organisations: ALACHO, CML, CoSLA, Consumer Focus Scotland, Homes for Scotland, HoPS, Miller Homes, SFHA, Shelter & Scottish Property Federation.
The Task Force has now come to an end and published its final report on 21 May 2010. This report highlights the progress made on the recommendations set out in the group's earlier ' Housing Supply in Scotland ' report and covers issues such as the implementation of planning reform, infrastructure investment and capacity in the house-building industry.
While this signals the end of the Task Force's programme of work, many of the organisations represented will take part in the new Housing Policy Advisory Group, established by the Minister for Housing and Communities to consider the future direction of housing policy.
