Scottish European Energy Network

Established in November 2007 out of the FREDs (Forum for Renewable Energy Developers) EU Network, the Scottish EU Energy Network is a group made up of representatives from academia, industry, environmental agencies, the Scottish Government and non-Governmental organisations. The Network meets quarterly to discuss current EU energy issues. It's main objective is to raise Scotland's profile in Europe.

The Scottish European Energy Network's Action Plan is to:

• Identify the key EU issues impacting on the renewables sector in Scotland

• Coordinate Scottish presence at key European energy events

• Position Scotland as a leader in renewable energy

• Identify EU opportunities and partnerships for the renewables sector in Scotland

• Focus on where the group can add value, not duplicating others efforts

• Keep in touch with legislative and other proposals

• Facilitate information sharing
