The Review of the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives
The Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives (the Centre) was set up in 2005 to create a centre that would support the delivery of the overall Healthy Working Lives Strategy. With the review of this strategy and the launch of Health Works in 2009 it seemed appropriate that the role of the Centre was also reviewed.
The Scottish Government undertook in Health Works to look at the activities and role of the Centre to ensure optimum performance. The broad aims of the report were:
- To review what the Centre was set up to do, the activities designed to meet the objectives and evidence of effectiveness; and
- Within the context of changing external environment and Scottish Government thinking, explore the future scope and ambition for the Centre and the required approach needed to attain these.
The review, which was carried out independently, made a number of recommendations as to the way forward for the Centre, which you can see from accessing the Report.
Scottish Health Works Medical Conference - March 2010
The Scottish Health Works Medical Conference took place on 29 March 2010 at the Carlton Hotel in Edinburgh. The Conference was the first of its kind in Scotland, bringing together Scottish medical leaders. Its aim was to provide the information and networks needed to provide strategic leadership and a strong medical voice within the Health Boards to ensure that the health of Scotland's workforce and working age population gets the attention that it needs in line with Health Works. You can see the summary report of the conference and the presentations from all our excellent speakers by accessing the agenda.
