Organic Farming
The rate of fall of land farmed under the Organic Aid Scheme has slowed considerably in the last three years following a period of steep decline. While the area of land has fallen the number of organic farmers has remained relatively stable in the same period. The Scottish Organic Aid Scheme was replaced in 2007 by The Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) - Rural Priorities, which supports both conversion and maintenance of organic farming
