Over the coming months, Marine Scotland will be consulting on proposals to introduce new legislation on improving management measures for farmed fish. The consultation will include proposals to:
- Update enforcement provisions, including those relating to sea fisheries, and the application of EU restrictions and obligations
- Provide continued protection for shellfish growing waters and make minor revisions to fisheries legislation
- Review aspects of management arrangements for wild salmon and freshwater fisheries
